Jesus - They are Stealing - Buffalo Sandal Photos

The fact is: Jesus sandals, Buffalo Sandals, Woodstock sandals, or Hippie sandals are not all created equally. But try and tell that to a theif.
BeCheap.com and BeWild.com are both run by the wildest and cheapest jerk imaginable. These people have stolen the photos and ad copy of the "Unisex Jesus Hippie Buffalo Sandals" that I've been selling for years directly from my website. They then placed ads all over the Internet using my copyrighted material word-for-word. All they needed to do was take their own photo and spend two seconds writing a simple sentence of their own that describes what they offer. But oh no!
The fact is: Jesus sandals, Buffalo sandals, and Hippie sandals are not all created equally. Even if they do appear to be unisex and of similar design. There are various grades of quality that can make all the difference in the world in how the sandals proform. Regardless of the price that you pay, if you get a hold of a bad pair --- you will not be a happy camper.
Years ago when I first started producing and creating the concept for Jolly Knocker sandals, my whole attention revolved around quality. I wanted everything to be the best -- the top notch Greek inspired sandal designs on the market. We imported special leather from Brazil. I brought in the highest ranking footwear and leather experts from India to over see the production of the Jolly Knocker style.
Then as an after thought, I ask if they would add a few hundred pair of buffalo - Woodstock style sandals from India. The classic hippie -Jesus style sandal that I had worn years ago, back in my college days.
It never occurred to me that there might be much difference in the quality of where they were made.

The Business of Selling Jesus Buffalo Sandals from India
Millions of people wear sandals, but selling "Jesus sandals" is anything but simple. I've been in the sandal business for over five years as a major importer and distributor of some of the finest and most sought after handcrafted footwear in the world. I import and produce classic Greek sandals; ancient styles, that have endured every test of time. I'm also the offical US contact for the "worlds oldest sandals" that are still in production, the Indian Kolapuri chappels Jesus buffalo sandal design from India.
The Jesus Buffalo Sandals or Hippie design that was so wildly popular during the Woodstock era and through out the 1970's is still in demand today. The millions of baby boomers that wore these unique handmade Jesus sandals in the Woodstock days are still wanting them now. They can't get the handcrafted 100% Green natural feel out of their mind.

Woodstock Music Fest 2009 ~ Sculptor & Fan Dies

I received a voice mail from the Bethel Woods Musuem today regarding the Woodstock era " Jesus- Buffalo sandals" that I distribute, but this wasn't mentioned in the call to me. I'm sorry to read later today that Wayne has passed away.

Wayne “Woodstock” Saward, the man who designed and sculpted the Woodstock Monument, died Monday in Middletown. He was 52.
A graduate of Pine Bush High School, Saward was a resident of Bloomingburg for most of his life. He made the 5 1/2-ton cast-iron and concrete monument, which was poured in 1984.
"He wanted to go to the Woodstock concert, but his older brother wouldn't take him. I think he was 11 or 12 years old at the time. He thought about sneaking out, but he was too young, " says his wife, Nina. "He always dreamed of putting a monument up there. It was his dream and he never looked to make any money off of it."

My View: Wayne Saward
Wayne Saward wrote this "My View" June 12, 1993 in the Times Herald-Record about the ownership of the spirit of the Woodstock festival.
In the second week of August, 1969, at the age of 12 years, 7 months old, in Fair Oaks, New York, while I was wallowing on Mallo peanut-butter cups and sipping on Coca Cola, I witnessed what some still say was the worst traffic jam on Route 17 to this day. What I wasn't sure of was what was causing this major back-up; but, within no time, I was informed by means of The Times Herald-Record and WALL Radio in Middletown. A massive rock festival, billed as an Aquarian Exposition, was taking place in White Lake, a distance of 33 miles away from my house on Fair Oaks Road.
The pictures and stories that appeared in The Record pertaining to the festival were fascinating. Fascinating enough that The Times Herald-Record issued two publications on Saturday, Aug. 16, 1969. It was made clear to me at that point that what was happening was very big and was sure to be historic, to say the least.
Since that time, there have been many rock festivals, but not one festival has ever left the impact that Woodstock did, culturally and universally. There were 400,000 hippies gathered in a sea of mud for three days - without any form, whatsoever, of violence - listening to music and having fun. The basis of Woodstock's success surely, and by all means, is owed to each and every person who was involved. They, themselves, made it historical.
The nucleus of Woodstock lies on four key individuals: John Roberts, Joel Rosenman, Michael Lang and Artie Kornfield. They had a dream of creating an event that would define a generation.
A generation that had witnessed so many wrongdoings, socially, racially, politically and also stood by to witness their fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters and relatives being killed in a senseless war, Vietnam. It was time to close an era. It was time to move on.
There's much to be learned about Woodstock. I think that the idea to commemorate it after 25 years is a fantastic idea. What today's society could reap from it could be bountiful, morally. Its concept could be useful as a teaching instrument for today's society. There's only one catch: This concept can happen, and only happen, in one place. That place is its origin, Bethel, N.Y., located at the intersection of Hurd Road and West Shore Road.

The idea of staging Woodstock ``94'' at any other location seems totally uncanny and plastic. As for any other promoter trying to reproduce Woodstock or reap monetary benefits, (whether charitable or not), is totally taking Woodstock out of its tablet form. In theory, any other persons trying to recreate such an event, (which is not theirs to begin with), are indeed ruining Woodstock.
Woodstock should only take place at its original site and be promoted and produced by its original Rat Pack. Give the Woodstock generation back the nucleus which it rightfully deserves: Roberts, Rosenman, Lang and Kornfield. That's the way it was and that's the way it should be, for the summer of '94.
I close with this. The M.S. Society and June Gelish mean well by trying to carry out their concept of what they think is Woodstock Spirit, but, unfortunately, I can only personally foresee failure in the event which they plan to stage next year. As for Sullivan County officials who put Mr. Roberts out of the picture for next year, I think you made a serious mistake and should welcome back Mr. Roberts and have him stage his own baby. He is willing to work with you, as he has stated in the past. As for myself, it seems as though I don't exist in your eyes.
A drummer, Saward loved music and performed in various bands throughout high school. He also camped up at the Bethel site every August for approximately 30 years and was involved a lot in the Woodstock community, something which Bethel Woods Center for the Arts recognized and appreciated.

Woodstock 2009 - Revival of Spirit not Music

The tip off to what is really happening this summer, the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock, isn't about the music. Everyone already knows the songs by heart. The story now is how it all came to be, and what meaning it gives to our lives today.
It's something about the mood and the feelings that people were experiencing then, and how those emotions still effect all of us today.
The movie and book about Elliot Tibor; "Taking Woodstock", will address the social issues of being gay in the '60s. The Vh1 and History Channel documentary will focus in on the civil unrest and draw attention towards today's environment.
The revival of the "Jesus Buffalo Hippie sandals" that were so popular then, are all part of this contantly moving story, behind the story, that will unfold this summer. It's going to be about all of the abstract things that are happening now. Not just what happened then.
The sandals for example aren't about footwear or fashion. They are about a cause, a movement, and a statement. They're 100% handcrafted. All natural leather, the oldest design on earth that is still produced. They were worn by millions during the late 60's and 70's because they were cheap, "but truely honest" and had meaning. The sandals sent a silent message, for a "peaceful revolution".
That's perhaps why Gandhi wore them. Why the Beatles wore them. And why people today still feel the need to have them. Many are concerned about the politics and governments of today. They are looking back to the past to help guide their future. They want Green natural products that aren't stored in Walmart and shipped from China. They are seeking real suff that isn't defined or immersed in Wall Street, and can no longer be found on Main St. They want the "feeling" back. The emotions that ran so high in the Woodstock era.
That's what the 40th Anniversary is about, not, a rock-in-roll revival, but a heart and soul revival. Getting back to the basics.

Jolly Knocker Makes 1st Offer to Woodstock 2009

Jolly Knocker Sandal Co. makes the first offer to sponsor Woodstock 2009 Music Festival
----------
There is no other sandal in the world that offers a smaller carbon imprint then the original handmade Buffalo, Jesus style sandals that Jolly Knocker is so famous for distributing. It's 100% green and is actually the oldest sandal in the world that is still produced.
We will strive to give whatever it takes to see Michael Lang succeed with this project. The entire state of the world economy is "all speculative" at this moment in time. But that's no reason to pause, it just gives more purpose to the cause.
Woodstock's Michael Lang Seeking Sponsors For 2009 Festival In New York City
March 21, 2009 12:56 PM ET
Gary Graff, Austin, TX
Michael Lang said plans for a 40th anniversary Woodstock concert are "all speculative ideas" for now, but he hopes to bring them to reality this summer. The Woodstock co-founder told Billboard.com that his vision is "a free event...a very green project," possibly in New York City. "We want to have as small a carbon imprint as we can and use as many green techniques as we can," said Lang, who was in Austin as part of a South By Southwest panel discussion about Woodstock. The holdup? "It's got to be sponsor-driven," he explained. "It's free, but it costs a lot of money. That's kind of what we're in the middle of right now. Depending on how successful we are in raising that sponsorship (money) will determine when and how we do this event – or if we do this event, frankly."
